This is Rose Cottage in Beddingham. It's one of a pair of cottages next to each other in our grounds. The village is tiny, just off the main Lewes to Eastbourne road, right in the South Downs.
It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well kitted out. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. There's a garden that's enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. You can bring two.
The view from the back is straight up at Mount Caburn. It's a proper hill with an old fort on top. Good for a walk if you're feeling energetic.
Lewes is about ten minutes away. It's got a Norman castle ruin and those narrow old streets. Glyndebourne opera house is two miles from here if that's your thing. The nearest shop is a mile and a half, the pub is a mile down the road.
You're about a 20 minute drive from the coast at Seaford or Newhaven. Brighton is 10 miles west, Eastbourne is 12 miles east. The South Downs Way runs right past, so walking is easy. For other days out, Drusillas Zoo is nearby, or Firle Place.
In the cottage: it's open plan downstairs. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.
