Candlewick Cottage
Candlewick Cottage is in Lower Heyford. It's a quiet village, right by some fields. The cottage is detached, down a lane, so there's no one on the other side of a wall.
It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating. We had it renovated a couple of years ago, so everything works and is fairly new.
You walk into one open room. There's the kitchen at one end and a sitting area at the other. The stairs to the bedroom are a spiral staircase. It's fine, but it is a spiral staircase, so just be aware.
Outside, there's a garden at the front with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the afternoon. You can park right next to the cottage.
The village has a pub about 200 yards away. It does food. There's a railway station in the village with trains to Oxford and Banbury. Bicester is about six miles away for bigger shops.
For walking, you can just step out the door. The Oxfordshire Way footpath runs through, and the Oxford Canal and River Cherwell are right there. You can follow the towpath for miles.
If you're driving out, Blenheim Palace is about twenty minutes away. The Oxfordshire Cotswolds are on the doorstep. For more general information, the Visit Oxfordshire website is useful.
Inside, it's got the things you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
