Bridge Cottage is ours. It's near Lockerbie. It's built right into the bank of a river, so the garden at the back is high up over the water. You can hear it from outside.
The cottage sleeps three. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. Everything's on the ground floor. There's an open fire in the living room. It's rated 3 Star, which I'd say means it's comfortable and clean but not modern.
The garden is small and fenced. It gets the sun. You'll see birds on the river. Sometimes herons.
It is rural. You're about two and a half miles from Lockerbie town centre. They've got shops, a Co-op, and a few places to eat. The train station there is useful for getting to Edinburgh or Carlisle.
If you walk, you're sorted. There are forest trails and quiet lanes right from the door. For golf, Lockerbie Golf Club is close. The coast, like the Solway Firth, is about a half hour drive. You've got a lot of history nearby too: castles, abbeys, big houses.
Facilities: washing machine, TV, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair. No pets, sorry.
Useful links for planning: NatureScot for nature reserves and Historic Environment Scotland for the castles and abbeys.
