Hare Cottage is near Westgate in Weardale, County Durham. It's a two-bedroom place that sleeps four. It's been fully done up fairly recently.
It's up on a bit of a slope, so you get a good view over fields from the front. The garden is all yours, plenty of lawn. There's a patio out the back that gets the sun.
Inside, the living room is a good size. There's a big sofa and a wood burner for colder nights. The kitchen has what you need. Downstairs there's a kingsize bedroom that walks out to the patio and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. The stairs are oak and go up to the second bedroom, which has twin beds and its own ensuite.
The village of Westgate is a short walk downhill. There's a pub that does food. You're right in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the walking from the door is excellent.
Stanhope is a few miles away. It's a small market town on the C2C cycle route. They have an open-air swimming pool, the Durham Dales Centre for crafts and a cafe, and the famous fossil tree. The Killhope Lead Mining Museum is about five miles away and is a good family day out.
Within half an hour you can get to Derwent Reservoir for walks or sailing. There's also the Weardale Adventure Centre nearby for activities like climbing and canoeing.
In terms of facilities, it's got WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but it's worth noting the property is on a slope and the garden has steps.
