This is Torreagles. It's an old church from 1864, near a place called Clola in Aberdeenshire. We converted it a few years back. It sleeps ten, has five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
From the outside, it still looks like a church. Inside, it's all open plan downstairs, where the old church hall was. The kitchen and dining area are there, with doors out to the back garden. Upstairs in the main living room, there's a big stained glass window that's the centrepiece. The ceilings are high. It's a big space.
There are three bathrooms, which helps with ten people. One's a proper bathroom, the other two are shower rooms. The stairs are fine, normal stairs.
Outside, there's about an acre of garden. It's enclosed at the back, with a few patio areas and a summerhouse. There's a big monkey puzzle tree out there. The drive at the front goes through a bit of woodland.
For wet days, there's a cinema room and a games room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not overly fancy. We allow up to two dogs. Bedding and towels are included.
The village of Mintlaw is about three miles away. It has a shop, a pub, and takeaways. Aden Country Park is there, good for walks. It's over 200 acres. Aden Country Park.
The beach at Cruden Bay is about eight miles east. It's a long, sandy beach. The ruins of Slains Castle are there too. Newburgh beach is south, about fourteen miles. You can often see seals there. It's next to the Forvie National Nature Reserve.
If you play golf, there are several courses within half an hour, including Cruden Bay, Trump International, and Royal Aberdeen.
