Henge Estate is near Elston village. It's a big Georgian house on about 25 acres of its own land. Sleeps 22 in nine bedrooms. I know, it's a lot. There are ten bathrooms, so you shouldn't be queueing.
It's a five-star place. That just means it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are normal for a house this age. The kitchen has an Aga and a big table. There's also a games room in the basement.
The garden is walled in part, good for keeping smaller kids corralled. There's a long woodland walk on the property, about a mile and a half if you do the loop. The front lawn is big enough for a game of something.
Stonehenge is about five minutes away by car. Salisbury is twenty. There's a pub and a shop in the village, half a mile down the lane.
For more ideas: English Heritage looks after a lot of the local sites, and National Trust South West has places like Stourhead and Lacock nearby.
The facilities list is long. It's got the basics: heating, hot water, wi-fi, parking, all included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, TVs. Garden furniture and a BBQ. A cot and highchair if needed. You can bring up to two dogs.
There's a one-bedroom annexe on the estate called The Nook. You have to book it separately if you need the extra space.
