The Old Stables is on our farm, a few miles north of Dundee. It's a conversion from the old farm buildings, so it's stone-walled and feels solid. You're on your own out here, just fields and the other cottages. It's quiet.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-kept.
You've got a woodburning stove for the evenings, which is good because it can get chilly even in summer. There's a patio with a table and a BBQ. The garden is shared with the other cottages, but it's big enough that you won't be on top of each other.
It's a working farm, so you'll see tractors going past sometimes, and there are sheep in the fields. We say up to two dogs are welcome, but please keep them on a lead outside because of the livestock.
For things to do, Dundee is about 20 minutes south. The V&A is there, and the Discovery Point. If you head north, you're into the Angus Glens pretty quickly. Glen Clova is about half an hour's drive. Good for walking.
The coast is close. Arbroath is 25 minutes for the cliffs and the smokies. Lunan Bay is a bit further but it's a beautiful beach. St Andrews is about 40 minutes if you like golf or the university town.
Inside, you've got what you'd expect: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside the door.
