The Haybarn is here on our fruit farm in High Halstow. It's one of three cottages in a converted barn. You get your own bit of enclosed garden. The view is across fields towards the Northward Hill RSPB reserve. We've got a big heronry, which is quite a sight.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not posh. Everything is on one level, which is handy.
It's quiet here. You'll see the chickens and geese wandering about. If you come when the trees are in blossom, or when the fruit's ripe, it's a nice time. We supply a few restaurants, so the fruit is good.
The village, with a pub and a shop, is about two miles away. For a bigger shop, Rochester is eight miles. It's got a castle and a cathedral, and the Dickens connections if that's your thing. Canterbury is about half an hour's drive.
You're about twenty minutes from the Thames estuary if you want a shoreline walk. The big RSPB reserve is right on your doorstep for birdwatching. We get barn owls and buzzards around the farm.
If you need to go into London, the high speed train from Ebbsfleet gets you there in under twenty minutes. Bluewater shopping centre is about a fifteen minute drive.
What's here: there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV, and WiFi. Bedding is included. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside. Sorry, no pets.
