The Cart Shed is on our fruit farm in High Halstow. It's one of three cottages converted from the old barn. You get a bit of enclosed garden to yourselves out the front. It looks out over fields towards the RSPB reserve.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both downstairs, and both have their own shower room. That's handy. It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s comfortable and clean, but not flash.
It’s quiet here. You'll see the chickens and ducks wandering about. In season, you’re welcome to pick some fruit from the farm. We supply a few restaurants round here with it.
The village is about two miles away. It’s got a pub that does food, a shop, and a post office. Rochester is eight miles for a bigger shop or a day out. It's got the castle and the Dickens connection.
Canterbury is about half an hour by car if you fancy the cathedral and the city. For coast, you can get to the Isle of Sheppey or Whitstable in under thirty minutes.
If you like walking, the RSPB reserve at Northward Hill is right on the doorstep. There’s a big heronry there. You often see barn owls and buzzards from the cottage.
Facilities: everything’s included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s parking right outside. Sorry, but we don’t take pets.
