Cruinn

Cruinn is a cottage on our farm in Achahoish, on the west coast of Argyll. It's detached, next to some natural woodland. The views are good. You look out over Loch Sween and across to Jura, and you get some nice sunsets.

It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. Everything is on the ground floor. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's another cottage, Moy, on the farm as well. They can be booked together.

It's a working farm, so the fields are in use. You get a patio area and a garden to yourselves. The location is quiet. Deer come through quite often, and you can walk down to the shore to look for seals. Otter sightings aren't guaranteed but they are around. The place is a bit secluded, so you need to be prepared for that. Shops are about sixteen miles away in Lochgilphead.

The coast here is good for just exploring. There are a few sandy beaches nearby. For something more specific, you can visit Castle Sween, which is an old ruin right on the lochside, or go to Kilmartin Glen for standing stones and ancient sites. The beaver reintroduction project in Knapdale Forest is about a twenty-minute drive.

Lochgilphead has the main services: shops, a golf course, an indoor swimming pool. For a meal out, Tayvallich has a good pub right on the water that does seafood.

The facilities are all there: dishwasher, washing machine, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a barbecue you can use.

If you're planning trips, these sites are useful: National Trust for Scotland Kilmartin, and for the beaver project, Scottish Beavers Knapdale.
