Achabeg is in Achahoish, Argyl. It's a detached cottage, surrounded by fields and hills, and it looks towards Loch Sween and out to Jura. The view is really the main thing.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, plus a third bathroom downstairs. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The living area is upstairs to get the view. It's a big room with a wood burner and a roof window. The stairs are open-tread, so just be aware if you've got young kids or if anyone's unsteady on their feet.
You're on the edge of Loch Sween. You can walk down to the shore. It's good for fishing, and you can put a small boat in. The cottage has an enclosed garden, which is handy if you're bringing a dog. We take one pet.
For a proper walk, you can get onto the Crinan Canal towpath. It's flat and good for cycling too. Kilmartin Glen is about half an hour's drive. It's full of old stones and burial cairns, thousands of years old. Really interesting if you like that sort of thing.
Crinan itself is a nice little harbour village. You can watch the boats go in and out of the canal. Lochgilphead is the nearest town for bigger shops, about 20 minutes by car.
You're in a good spot for ferries. You can get to Gigha, Arran, or Jura for a day trip without too much driving. Oban, for the ferry to Mull, is about an hour away.
Facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right there. All bedding is included. There's a wood burner and we provide some logs to start you off.
