The Weaning Shed is in Huggate. It's on the high part of the Yorkshire Wolds, so you get a good view. You can see a paddock out the back, and you're welcome to use it. There's a proper garden and a patio area that gets the sun.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. We've got a 4 Star rating. It's warm and comfortable, mostly because we use a ground source heat pump and solar panels. The stairs are okay, but mind your head on the way up.
You can walk to the village pub. It's about 200 yards away and they do food. The shop is further, about seven miles, so you'll want to drive for that. Good walking is right on the doorstep, like Millington Woods. For a longer walk, the Minster Way is close by.
There’s a games room in a separate outbuilding. It’s got a pool table and some other things to keep people busy. Parking is on site, and there's an electric vehicle charger if you need it.
If you want a day out, Burnby Hall Gardens in Pocklington are about 20 minutes away. Beverley is a nice market town, about half an hour. York is also about 30 minutes if you fancy the history. The coast is in the other direction, also around half an hour.
The place has a washing machine, dishwasher, and a wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing little ones. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, but check the fences are high enough for your dog.
For planning, the Welcome to Yorkshire site is useful. The Yorkshire Wolds site has walking routes.
