The Fish House is on a big estate up on the north coast, just off the NC500. It's about three miles from Durness, so you've got the shop and pub there. It's detached, on its own. You get 300 acres to wander around.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms. It's a 4 Star so it's done well. It's a listed building, so there are thick stone walls and wooden beams. The stairs are proper old cottage stairs, steep and winding.
The main sitting room is on the first floor, which means you get a good view out over the harbour from up there. There's a wood burner. The kitchen is downstairs, along with another smaller living room.
The beach is about 200 yards away. It's a white sand beach, curved, with rocks at either end. You'll see seals in the harbour quite often. Deer, otters, eagles all around the estate.
If you fish, you can do it right from the shore. For golf, the closest course is at Durness. It's a 9-hole, right on the coast. If you want to walk, you're on the NC500 so you can just head out. Ben Hope and Ben Loyal are both within a 30 minute drive if you're after proper hills.
What's here: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry.
