The Cottage is in Sangobeg, up in the far north of Scotland. It's on a big estate, about 300 acres. You get the whole place to yourselves, it's detached.
It's a 4 Star place. It sleeps four, but all in one bedroom. It's a proper double and then bunk beds, so it's best suited for a couple with kids, or maybe two kids that don't mind sharing. There's one bathroom with a shower.
You're right on the North Coast 500 route. The estate lane turns off it. It's very quiet.
The beach is about 200 yards away. It's a lovely curve of white sand. You'll often see seals in the harbour. We've had otters around the rocks, and deer on the estate. Eagles fly over sometimes.
Inside, it's a stone barn conversion. There's a wood burning stove in the living room. The kitchen is at the back. Stairs are a spiral staircase, which is fine but just be aware if you've got very little ones or lots of bags. The ceiling upstairs is quite steeply sloped in parts.
For facilities, you've got Wi-Fi, a TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The garden is enclosed. We accept up to two dogs.
The nearest shop and pub is in Durness, about three miles away. It's a small village but it has what you need. There's a golf course at Balnakiel, which is just past Durness.
If you want to explore, Ben Loyal and Ben Hope are both within a half hour drive for walking. Cape Wrath is a bit further, but worth the trip if the ferry's running. Smoo Cave is just outside Durness.
