The Cottage is on a big estate in Sangobeg, right on the North Coast 500 road.
It sleeps four in total. There's one proper bedroom downstairs with a big bed you can make into two singles. Then upstairs, the main sofa pulls out into a double bed. One bathroom with a shower.
The living room is all upstairs. It's because of the view. You get a full wall of windows looking right out over the little harbour and the hills. It's just a good room to sit in. There's a wood burner and a couple of old leather sofas. The stairs to get up there are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and narrow.
You're on your own, it's detached. There's a small enclosed garden with a patio, off-road parking, and all the usual things like a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets.
The beach is basically at the bottom of the field. It's a white sand cove, really nice. You can see seals in the harbour sometimes.
The nearest shop and a pub that does food are in Durness, about three miles away. That's where you'd go for basics or a meal out.
If you're here to be outside, it's all right there. Walking, fishing, kayaking. There's a golf course nearby too. For a wider day out, you can drive to places like Smoo Cave or Balnakeil Craft Village quite quickly. The National Trust for Scotland looks after a lot of the local land and beaches, so their site is useful for walks.
