The Beachcomber

The Beachcomber is in Cairnbulg. That's one of those twin fishing villages next to Fraserburgh. It's a proper old fisherman's cottage that's been done up, so it's detached.

It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's clean and it works. The living space is open plan and looks out over the front courtyard, which is enclosed.

The sea is right there, literally a hundred yards. You can hear it. The beach is sandy and huge. It's quiet. In winter, you can sometimes see the Northern Lights from here because it's so dark. The village has those narrow old streets and they still put washing out on the lines by the shore.

Fraserburgh is about four miles away for shops. There's a local shop a few minutes walk away. A pub and restaurant are about a mile.

If you play golf, the Inverallochy course is here. Every hole faces the sea. For boat trips to see dolphins or whales, you'd go to Fraserburgh harbour. The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses is in Fraserburgh too.

What's here: parking on site, a washing machine, WiFi, a cot if you need it, bedding and towels are included. It's got some wheelchair access features, like level entry and a ground floor shower room.
