Melgund Glen Lodge Minto

Melgund Glen Lodge is near Denholm, which is about a mile and a half from Minto in the Scottish Borders. It’s a detached cottage on the same estate as our house, but we’re a quarter of a mile further down the drive so you’ve got your own space.

The lodge sleeps five. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. It’s set in some mature woodland at the bottom of the glen, and there’s a small stream at the edge of the garden.

Denholm village is about a ten minute walk. There’s a shop, a couple of good pubs, and a restaurant. The local golf course at Minto is half a mile away. For fishing, you’ve got the River Teviot and the Tweed nearby.

For days out, Kelso and Melrose are both good. Kelso has Floors Castle and Melrose has the Abbey. The whole area is good for walking and cycling on quiet roads. For mountain biking, Glentress Forest in the Tweed Valley is about a 30 minute drive. You can be in the Northumberland National Park or down at the Berwickshire coast in under an hour.

The place has a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There’s bike storage and parking on the drive. We can provide a cot and a highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
