The Grooms Bothy is an old stable we converted a few years back. It's detached and sits on an eight acre former manse estate, which is now mainly used for horses.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms upstairs. The stairs are a bit steeper than modern ones, just so you know. Downstairs is mostly one open room: kitchen, dining area, and living space. There's a wood burner. It works well and keeps the place warm. The shower room is also on the ground floor and has underfloor heating.
It's got a 4 Star rating. You’ll find a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible.
If you're bringing horses, we can usually arrange stabling for a small fee. Just ask beforehand.
The location is quiet. Nenthorn itself is a hamlet. The nearest shop, pub, and restaurant are about four miles away in Kelso. Kelso's a nice market town with an abbey ruin and a big square.
You're well placed for exploring. The Berwickshire coast at Coldingham is about half an hour's drive for a good beach. For a historic house, there's Paxton House near Berwick, which is run by the National Trust for Scotland. The wider Scottish Borders are good for cycling and walking. There are several golf courses within a 30 minute drive, including one at the Hirsel in Coldstream.

We allow up to two pets.
