Hideaway

This is Hideaway, in Kelso. It's an end-terrace cottage, so it's quiet. You're just off the main square, near the old church.

It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs with an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower. The stairs are normal, not steep.

The kitchen was all new in 2023. It's got everything you'd need. The living room opens into it, so it's one space. There's a small enclosed patio garden out the back.

You're right in the town. There's a good pub about a minute's walk away, and a restaurant even closer. Lots of independent shops. The town's where the Tweed and Teviot rivers meet, so it's popular for fishing.

Floors Castle is on the edge of town. It's a proper castle you can visit, with grounds. Other big houses like Mellerstain and Abbotsford are within half an hour. The Border Union Showground here has events through the year, antique fairs and an agricultural show in July.

If you want the coast, it's about 45 minutes to places like Eyemouth. They've got a harbour with seals.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs.
