Courtyard Cottage is attached to Mellerstain House. It's on the estate, so you're in the grounds of a big house designed by the Adam brothers. You can walk around the gardens and parkland. The view from the terraced garden is good, you can see the lake and the hills.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's the main thing about it. Everything is on one level, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
It’s a quiet spot. Rural. You’ll need a car. The nearest shop and pub are about three and a half miles away, in Gordon. There’s a coffee shop in the courtyard here, but it’s only open on certain days when the house is open to the public.
Kelso is six miles away. That’s where you'll find supermarkets and more places to eat. Floors Castle is there. Edinburgh is about thirty-five miles, so just over an hour depending on traffic.
For beaches, you’d drive east to places like Berwick-upon-Tweed or Holy Island. That takes about forty-five minutes.
Facilities: there’s a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and parking right outside. We include all bedding and towels. There’s a cot available. You can bring up to two dogs.
