Carron View is in Achnashellach, which is a hamlet in the Scottish Highlands. The name gives it away, the view is of the Carron river valley and the hills around it. It's a traditional stone cottage, set by itself.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms so no queues in the morning. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, not a show home. Everything works.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have kids or a dog. Wait, no pets sorry, I forgot. It's just grass and a patio. You get the sun in the evening.
It's very quiet here. The shop is about four miles away in Lochcarron, the pub is three. Lochcarron village has a couple of places to eat and a small golf course. For a bigger shop you'd go to Kyle of Lochshalsh or Dingwall.
The location is what you come for. You can walk from the door straight into the hills. There are paths up through the woods to the station and beyond. For driving, the Applecross road is about twenty minutes away. That's the famous Bealach na Bà pass. Skye is less than an hour's drive, over the bridge at Kyle.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking for two cars right outside.
