Cloud Howe

This is Cloud Howe, up in Arbuthnott in Aberdeenshire. It's part of the old school building that's been done up. There are two other cottages in the same building, Cloud Howe is one of them.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean. Nothing too fancy.

The place is on the Arbuthnott Estate. The family there have been around for centuries. The house and gardens are open a few days a year, but they can sometimes arrange visits for small groups if you're interested.

You're about three and a half miles from the coast at Inverbervie. It's a shingle beach with good walks. Stonehaven is nine miles away. That's a busier town with an outdoor heated swimming pool. Dunnottar Castle is there, right on the cliffs. Historic Environment Scotland has the details for Dunnottar.

Montrose is about thirteen miles south. Good sandy beaches and golf there. It's a straightforward drive to the Angus Glens if you like hill walking.

The nearest shop and pub are in Inverbervie, that's the three and a half miles again.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. There's an enclosed garden area for you. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

If you're looking for walk ideas or other places to visit, The National Trust for Scotland in Aberdeenshire and Cairngorms National Park are both within reach for a day out.
