This is Grey Granite. It's on the Arbuthnott Estate out in the country, a few miles inland from the coast. It's one of three cottages in the Old School building. They've done a nice job keeping the old feel while making it comfortable.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and well-equipped but not a luxury place. You get your own bit of garden with it, which is enclosed.
The cottage is on a single track road. It's very quiet. You'll hear birds and not much else. The nearest shop and pub is in Inverbervie, about three and a half miles away. That's also where you can get down to the beach. It's shingle, good for walks.
If you want a proper sandy beach, Montrose is about half an hour's drive. Stonehaven is closer, maybe 20 minutes. They've got an outdoor heated swimming pool there which is popular in summer. Dunnottar Castle is just outside Stonehaven. It's spectacular, right on the cliffs. The National Trust looks after it.
You're well placed for getting around. Royal Deeside is easy to reach for a day out. Aberdeen is under an hour if you need a city or the airport.
Inside, it's got what you'd need: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
For planning walks or visits, the NatureScot and VisitScotland sites are useful.
