Grey Granite is one of three cottages in the old school building on the Arbuthnott estate. It's a three bedroom place, sleeps six. We've given it a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. You get one bathroom.
The cottage is in Arbuthnott, which is proper countryside. It's about three and a half miles from the coast. The nearest shop and pub are about the same distance, in Inverbervie.
You've got your own enclosed garden. Parking is right outside. Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We take up to two dogs.
Inverbervie has a shingle beach and good coastal walks. Stonehaven is about nine miles away. That's where you'll find an outdoor heated swimming pool and Dunnottar Castle, which is worth a visit. Historic Environment Scotland has details for Dunnottar.
Montrose, with sandy beaches and golf, is about thirteen miles. You're also well placed for getting into Royal Deeside or the Angus Glens if you want to drive a bit further.
The estate house itself is open to the public for just a few days a year, but they can sometimes arrange private tours for small groups if you email them in advance.
Grey Granite can be rented together with the other two cottages in the building if you've got a bigger group.
