Sunset Song is a cottage near Arbuthnott. It's on an old estate, but the cottage itself is one of three in a converted village school. You get your own bit of garden at the back.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It’s a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The conversion means the layout is a bit quirky in places, but it works.
The location is quiet. You're about ten minutes by car from Inverbervie, which has a shop, a pub, and a shingle beach. Stonehaven is about nine miles away. That's where you'll find the outdoor heated swimming pool and Dunnottar Castle, which is worth a visit. Montrose, with sandy beaches, is about twenty minutes' drive.
You're well placed for heading inland too. Royal Deeside and the Angus Glens are within a half hour drive for walks or scenery.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The garden at the back is enclosed.
If you're planning to explore, the Visit Aberdeenshire site has good information on the area.
