It's called The Old School House, and it's in Lonbain, on the west coast of the Highlands. It used to be a school, a long time ago.
It's detached, with its own walled garden. The main thing is the view. You're right on the shore, looking out towards Raasay, Rona, and Skye. There's a big picture window in the sitting room. You get great sunsets from there.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It was renovated a couple of years ago, so everything works, but they kept the high ceilings from the old classrooms. It feels spacious.
You can bring one dog. There's parking by the house, but you do have to drive down a private track to get to it. It's about a quarter of a mile. It's fine for normal cars, just something to know.
For facilities, it's got everything you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. They've got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
The nearest proper beach is about three miles away, at Sand Beach or Applecross Bay. Applecross village is about nine miles. It's got a shop and a couple of good places to eat, including the famous Applecross Inn. The drive over the Bealach na Bà to get there is an event in itself.
If you want to go further, Torridon is a good base for walking. The National Trust for Scotland centre there is worth a look. You're also in a good spot for kayaking or paddle boarding on the sea lochs.
It's quiet. You're there for the view and the peace.
