This is Beech Cottage over in Crawfordjohn. It's part of a small group of three cottages around a courtyard. The main thing is the setting. It's right on the Douglas Estate, so you're surrounded by woods and open fields. The views are very good.
It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done up to a high standard. It's modern and comfortable inside. Sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms and a bedroom are on the ground floor, and there's wheelchair access, so it works for most people.
You can walk straight out the door and onto estate paths. The Southern Upland Way, which is that big coast-to-coast walk, is close by too. If you want a pint or a meal, the nearest pub is about two miles down the road in the village. For a bigger shop, you'd need to go to Biggar, which is about seven miles. They've got everything there: shops, a few places to eat, a museum. It's a nice town.
You're quite central here for getting about. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both around an hour's drive. Biggar itself is about twenty minutes. If you're into fishing or country sports, you can arrange that on the estate.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: a woodburning stove, TV, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
