This is Elm Cottage. It's in Crawfordjohn, which is in South Lanarkshire. It's part of the Douglas Estate, so you're right in the middle of the countryside. The cottage is one of three around a small courtyard.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and each has its own bathroom, which is handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done up to a high standard. It's all on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. The main door is quite wide.
The place faces south-west, so you get the sun in the afternoon and evening. You can sit outside your own door. The view from the living room window is just fields and trees.
Inside, it's warm. There's a woodburning stove and the heating is included. There's a TV, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. All the bedding and towels are there.
You can walk straight out from the door. The Southern Upland Way runs nearby if you want a proper long walk. There's a pub about two miles away in the village. The nearest shop for a decent supermarket is in Biggar, about seven miles.
Biggar has a few shops, a couple of museums, and a little theatre. For a day out, you can drive to the Tweed Valley for fishing or mountain biking. Glasgow is under an hour's drive if you want city things. Edinburgh is about the same.
There's parking right outside the cottage. No pets allowed, I'm afraid.
