Oak Cottage is near Crawfordjohn, in the middle of the countryside. It's part of a row of three cottages built around a courtyard, so you'll see neighbours coming and going. You get your own front door and parking spot.
It's on a big estate with a lot of land. The views out the back are all fields and hills, no roads. There are woods right there for a walk straight from the garden gate.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each has its own bathroom. That's quite handy. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's finished to a high standard. It's comfortable, not just basic.
The front door and living spaces are on the ground floor, and there's a proper path to the door. The doorways are wide and the layout inside is level, so it works well if you have mobility issues.
There's a pub about two miles away in the village. For a supermarket or other shops, you need to go to Biggar, which is about seven miles. They've got a few things there, including a museum. The Southern Upland Way long-distance path runs close by if you're serious walkers.
Edinburgh is under an hour's drive for the castle and museums. Glasgow is a bit further, maybe an hour and a quarter. Both are easy for a day trip.
Inside, it's got a wood-burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and a TV. All the bedding and towels are included. The parking is right outside.
