The Parlour

The Parlour is in Braehead, Lanarkshire. It's one of two cottages next to our house, converted from old farm buildings. The views are of fields and Tinto Hill.

It's for two people. One bedroom with its own bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The ceiling is low in the kitchen, and the front door is a bit lower still. Just mind your head.

You've got your own little patio garden out the front. It gets the sun in the afternoon. Inside, there's a wood burner. It's easy to use and we leave you some logs to start with. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside.

We're on a small farm, so you'll see sheep and chickens. The main road is three miles away for a shop or a pub. For more choice, Lanark is about six miles. That's where you'll find New Lanark, which is a World Heritage Site. It's good for a walk, and the Falls of Clyde are there too.

If you want a day out, Edinburgh and Glasgow are both roughly half an hour's drive. Biggar is closer, about eleven miles. It has a few museums and proper shops.

For local walks or cycling, the Tinto Hill path starts nearby. For planning, the Scotland's Gardens site sometimes has local estate openings, and Scottish Wildlife Trust looks after the Corehouse Nature Reserve just along the road.

We provide all bedding and towels. A cot and highchair are here if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
