The Parlour is in Braehead, Lanarkshire. It's on a small farm, right next to our house. The building was a stable and dairy about two hundred years ago. There's another cottage joined onto it, but you have your own front door and garden.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. The shower is in the bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating because it's comfortable and everything works. You get the basics: a wood burning stove, TV, WiFi, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.
The view from the front looks out towards Tinto Hill. It's quiet. You'll hear sheep and birds more than anything else.
The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Wiston. For a bigger town, Lanark is five miles. That's where the New Lanark World Heritage Site is, right by the Falls of Clyde. Biggar is eleven miles and has a few more shops and places to eat.
If you want to get out, there's a lot of walking from the door. The Clyde Valley is good for it. You're about half an hour's drive from the outskirts of both Glasgow and Edinburgh if you fancy a city day. For local information, VisitScotland's Clyde Valley page is useful.
No pets, I'm afraid. And because it's an old building, the ceilings are a bit lower in places and the doorways aren't terribly tall.
