Macinnisfree Cottage is in Ferindonald, which is on the Sleat peninsula in the Highlands. It's a big, detached house, not a tiny cottage. You're about 200 yards from the shore.
It sleeps six. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, so everyone gets their own space. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The driveway is shared for the first bit, then it's all yours.
The main thing here is the view. You look straight out over the Sound of Sleat. You can see Ben Sgritheall, Loch Hourn, and Knoydart from the living room. We've seen herons and eagles from the window. There's a stream and a bit of wild woodland on the three-acre plot.
There are a few hotels nearby for a meal out, all within about seven miles. Kinloch Lodge has a Michelin-starred restaurant if that's your thing. The shop is in Ardvasar, about three miles away.
For getting about, the Mallaig ferry is three miles down the road if you want to pop over to the islands. Kyle of Lochalsh is about nineteen miles. You can do boat trips from Armadale pier or Elgol to see the hills and maybe some wildlife. Good walking starts right from the door, from easy stuff along the coast to the Cuillin if you're serious.
In the house, you've got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding is included. We take up to two dogs.
