The Dovecote

The Dovecote is in Thrupp, a hamlet next to the Oxford canal. It's a small, detached building in the grounds of the main house, but it's completely private. It's for two people only.

Inside, it's got a four star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. There's one bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs, and a small kitchen with a dishwasher. It's got heating, wifi, and a TV. There's parking right outside for one car.

You're allowed one well behaved dog. There's a small, private garden with a table and chairs, and you can walk straight out onto the canal towpath from there.

The local pub, The Boat Inn, is about a five minute walk. It's a proper canal side pub, serves food and has an open fire. Annie's Tea Room is just over the bridge. They do good cake and coffee.

For shops, you need to go into Kidlington. It's a couple of miles away, maybe a five minute drive, and it has supermarkets and everything else you might need. There's a bus stop there that goes into Oxford regularly.

You're in a good spot for getting around. Oxford city centre is about a 20 minute drive, maybe less if the traffic is light. The M40 is ten minutes away so you can get into London or Birmingham fairly easily, depending on the traffic. Blenheim Palace in Woodstock is a 15 minute drive. The Cotswolds start about half an hour to the west.
