The Gatehouse is in Black Heddon. It's detached and sits in the grounds of Bitchfield Tower, which is a fifteenth-century tower. You're out in the countryside here. It's quiet.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's on the ground floor, so no stairs to worry about.
There's a wood burning stove for colder nights. A patio area with a BBQ. You have access to the main six-acre grounds. There's a tennis court and a trout lake you can use, if that's your thing.
The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Ponteland. Ponteland has a few decent restaurants.
For days out, Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about half an hour's drive. The coast is maybe thirty-five minutes. You can get to Newcastle in twenty-five minutes if you want city life. Hexham and Morpeth are also within half an hour.
Facilities: parking is right there. TV included. Bedding and towels are provided. No pets, sorry.
