Tower Cottage is in Black Heddon, just outside Ponteland. It's on the grounds of Bitchfield Tower, an old pele tower from the 1400s. The cottage is detached. You're right in the countryside here, it's very quiet.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The cottage has its own garden and patio area.
You share access to the wider grounds with the other cottages here. That's about six acres. There's a tennis court and a trout lake on site if you fancy that.
The nearest shop and pub are about three miles away in Ponteland. Ponteland has a few nice places to eat and some shops. For a bigger day out, Alnwick is about a twenty minute drive. The castle and the Alnwick Garden are worth a visit.
You can get up to the coast in roughly half an hour. Craster, Dunstanburgh Castle, that sort of way. Newcastle city centre is about a fifteen minute drive too, if you want restaurants or the theatre.
For history, there's a lot around. Belsay Hall is close by. Hexham with its abbey isn't far. The National Trust and English Heritage have plenty of sites nearby if that's your thing.
In the cottage you've got a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and a wood burning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Parking is right there. Sorry, no pets.
