Sprat & Winkle is an old railway carriage from 1922. It’s in Horsebridge, Hampshire. I live in the station building next door. The carriage sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two shower rooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
I've done it up so it's comfortable but kept the railway feel. The lights are a bit Orient Express. There's one double and one twin. Each room has its own shower.
It's detached, with its own patio area with seating. The garden is about two and a half acres, and it's part of the National Garden Scheme. You're welcome to use it. My dog and two cats are about, but they're friendly.
You're looking over fields and there’s a river view. The Test Way footpath is a few minutes away if you want a walk. The local pub is a short stroll down the lane, they do food. The River Test is famous for trout fishing if that's your thing.
The M27 is about 10 miles away, so getting to things is fairly easy. Romsey is 15 minutes by car. Winchester is about half an hour. The New Forest is within a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog. There's a BBQ and a kids' play area in the big garden.
