Little Trout is in Nether Wallop. It's a one-bedroom bungalow attached to our house, which is very old. We live in the main part, you have the annexe. It's all on one floor.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well kept. The doorways are a bit low because it's a thatched cottage. You'll need to mind your head.
The cottage is in a quiet village lane. There's an enclosed patio garden at the front that's just for you. It gets the sun in the morning. Behind the cottage there's a footpath straight into the fields, which is good for dog walks.
We're told the building used to be a pub called The Trout Inn. The front porch was used as the village chemist's shop in the old BBC Miss Marple. That's about as exciting as it gets here.
The local pub is about a mile and a half walk. It does food. Stockbridge is four miles away for a few shops and places to eat.
For fishing, the River Test is about three miles away. They're serious about trout there. The Wallops are good for walking. If you want to drive, Salisbury and Winchester are about twenty minutes in either direction. The New Forest is easy to get to. Stonehenge, the Army Flying Museum at Middle Wallop, and places like Mottisfont Abbey are all within a half hour drive.
What's here: there's parking, WiFi, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The garden is enclosed. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Everything is on the ground floor and there's step-free access, but because it's old, the internal doors are quite low.
