Franks

Franks is our place up in Bornesketaig on Skye. It's a crofter's cottage we've done up. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. The main room downstairs is open plan with a wood burner. The floors are wood and there's underfloor heating, so it's warm. It has a smart TV and a music system you can link to Spotify.

The cottage is about a five minute walk from Camus Mor bay. It's sheltered, good for launching a kayak if you have one. You often see seals there. The sunsets from there are something else.

The stairs are a typical cottage staircase. They're fine, but they turn a corner and are a bit steeper than modern ones.

You're about six miles from the nearest shop and pub, which are in Uig. Uig also has the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides. Portree is half an hour's drive for more shops and places to eat.

If you like walking, you're very close to the Quiraing and the Old Man of Storr. The Whitewave Activity Centre is nearby for things like kayaking or climbing. The Museum of Island Life and Kilmuir Cemetery are a short drive. Flora MacDonald is buried there.

For facilities, you've got parking, an enclosed garden, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's a BBQ you can use. No pets, sorry.
