Old High Hall is just outside Wickhambrook. It's a big thatched place from the 1400s, used to be a hunting lodge. It's detached, with a couple of acres of garden.
It sleeps ten. Five bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's full of old furniture and has open fires, one in the living room and one in the dining room. The stairs are fine, but the ceilings are low in some rooms because of the beams. You'll need to mind your head.
There's a local pub about a ten minute walk away. The village shop is handy for basics.
You're properly in the countryside here. It's quiet. Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket are both about eight miles away, so you can go to the races or see the Abbey Gardens. Nice villages like Lavenham and Long Melford are a short drive. Cambridge is under half an hour if you fancy a trip to the museums or just to look around.
The place has got a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and parking for a few cars. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
