Captain's Quarters

Captain's Quarters is Hartlepool's old pilot station. It's a flat on the first and second floor of a tall, Grade II listed stone building right on the seafront.

It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, both with sea views, and two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down. It has a 4 Star rating. The building is very old, so the stairs are steep and winding, and some floors slope a bit. The doors are low in places.

The main living space is open plan. You get a good view of the sea from there. There's a Smart TV and a small window seat. The kitchen is a couple of steps down from that area. It has a washing machine. All bedding and towels are included.

There's a small park directly opposite with a kids' play area and a crazy golf course. You can get straight onto the beach from there. The promenade is long and good for walks. One well-behaved dog is welcome.

The flat is above a small, dog-friendly micro pub. It's not a late-night place, but you will hear a normal pub level of noise from below in the evenings. There are other pubs and shops a short walk away in the town.

In Hartlepool itself, the National Museum of the Royal Navy is worth a visit, and HMS Trincomalee is there. For a day out, Durham city is about half an hour's drive. The Cathedral and castle are a UNESCO site. Beamish Museum is also within half an hour. The North York Moors National Park is about 40 minutes away. Whitby is just under an hour's drive.

Parking is by permit, provided on site.
