Old Post Office Westfield

Old Post Office is in Westfield, which is a few minutes outside Thurso in the far north of Scotland. It’s a one-bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so everything works and it’s comfortable.

The main thing is the multi-fuel burner in the living room. It’s the only heat source for warming the place up, so you’ll need to use it when it’s cold. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to cook. You eat in the little sunroom, which looks out over the fields.

There’s a small garden at the front with a bench. The back garden is quiet, good for sitting with a cup of tea.

You’re a short walk from Loch Calder. It’s a good spot for a stroll and you might see some birds. Thurso is close for shops and a few places to eat. Thurso Beach is good for a blow along the coast.

You can drive to the Castle of Mey in about twenty minutes. Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the mainland, is about a fifteen minute drive. John o’ Groats is roughly half an hour away.

Facilities: there’s a washing machine, parking right outside, and bedding and towels are included. WiFi is there. No pets, sorry.
