Dalroddie

Dalroddie is in Drummuir, on the Drummuir Estate. It's a detached house, so you're on your own. You get onto the property via an estate track off the public road. The surroundings are all estate land, so you can walk straight from the front door. There are paths that link up to the Isla Way, which goes to Keith or Dufftown.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. You can bring one dog.

The garden is good. You can sit out and you'll often see deer or other wildlife from the estate.

Dufftown is the nearest town, about a ten minute drive. It's got shops for what you need, a golf course, and is right in the middle of whisky country. Glenfiddich and Balvenie distilleries are there if you want a tour. The local hills, like Ben Rinnes, are good for walking.

You can get to the Moray Coast in about half an hour. Places like Cullen and Lossiemouth have long sandy beaches. You can sometimes see dolphins from the shore there. Boat trips run from places like Buckie if you want a closer look.

There are a few castles within a reasonable drive. The ruins of Auchindoun are about eight miles away. Ballindalloch Castle is a bit further. Balmoral is over an hour's drive.

For facilities: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. The electricity is all included.

Some useful links if you're planning: National Trust for Scotland for general heritage, and the Cairngorms National Park website has walking and activity information, though you're on the fringes of it here.
