Dalroddie

Dalroddie is a detached cottage near Dufftown in Aberdeenshire. It's down an estate track off the public road, so you're away from things. It's part of the Drummuir Estate, so there are walks you can do straight from the front door.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable but not luxurious. There's underfloor heating downstairs and a woodburning stove in the living room. You can bring one dog.

The garden is enclosed, mostly grass. You get nice views over the fields. For a bigger walk, you can pick up the Isla Way path which goes to Keith or Dufftown.

Dufftown is the main local town. It has shops for groceries. It's famous for whisky, so there are distilleries like Glenfiddich you can visit. There's a golf course and good local walking, like up Ben Rinnes.

The Moray Coast is about half an hour's drive. The beaches at Cullen and Lossiemouth are good. You might see dolphins from the shore there, or you can book a boat trip from Spey Bay.

For castles, the ruins at Auchindoun are about eight miles away. Ballindalloch Castle is a bit further. Balmoral is over an hour's drive.

Facilities are straightforward: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included.
