Located between Darlington and Yarm, Oxford House sits in a slightly elevated position on the banks of the River Tees in the pretty village of Middleton One Row. With good access to Teesside and Darlington, and under a mile from Teeside International Airport, it is a fantastic base to explore the local area.
The transformation of Oxford House was completed in 2023, providing high end luxury accommodation consisting of six properties, four apartments and two quirky loft-style studios. Whether visiting for a romantic getaway, family staycation, exploring with friends or a group celebration, there is accommodation to suit everyone, booked individually or in total to sleep up to sixteen people.

The location is perfect for getting out to explore. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes from the village. With great access to local countryside walks and cycling, Oxford House is a perfect base for the outdoor enthusiast. The Yorkshire Dales market town of Richmond is a 30-minute drive with its imposing castle and riverside walks, extending to the Yorkshire Dales National Park with beautiful walks and picture postcard villages. Alternatively, the beautiful coast and beaches at Saltburn by Sea down to Whitby can be reached in just over 30 minutes.
There are many activities to enjoy and places of interest to visit. For special occasions Rockcliffe Spa and Country club are nearby, with a championship 18-hole golf course or try your hand at Croft race circuit, offering a memorable driving experience. The nearby town of Darlington offers shopping, dining, and theatre.
The historic market town of Yarm, just a 10 minutes’ drive is a hidden gem and a great location for a relaxing day out. It boasts many excellent restaurants, coffee shops and clothing stores.
