The Shieling

The Shieling is a bungalow on a street just outside the centre of Biggar. It's detached, so no neighbours through the walls. You've got the garden to yourself, which is just a patio really, but it's private.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, no bath. Two bedrooms are at the back, one at the front. One of the back bedrooms has trundle beds, so you can have it as twins or push them together for a double. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's well looked after and has everything you need.

Biggar is a small town. You can walk into the centre in a few minutes. There are a couple of pubs that do food, some cafes, and independent shops. It's quiet.

Being here, you're right on the edge of the Scottish Borders. The Southern Uplands are all around for walking. There's a golf course just outside town, and fishing and horse riding nearby if that's your thing.

For a day out, you're about an hour's drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow. It's straightforward to get to either. The M74 is close if you're heading south towards Carlisle or north. Stirling and the Trossachs are also within an hour.

In terms of what's there: it's all on one level, which is handy. There's parking for two cars off the road. The kitchen has a dishwasher, there's a washing machine in the back porch, and a TV with WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
