Hatchers Barn

Hatchers Barn is in Shefford Woodlands, just outside Newbury. It's a barn conversion joined to Olivers Barn next door, which you can also rent. If you book both together, you sleep sixteen.

It's a 5 Star place, so it's well kitted out and finished to a good standard. Sleeps eight, across four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps a lot with a group that size. Two dogs are allowed.

The barn faces south, so you get the sun on the front. There's an enclosed garden at the back with a patio and a barbecue. You can park right outside. There's an electric vehicle charger too.

Inside, it's all on one level once you're in, which is good for access. There's underfloor heating and a woodburning stove for cooler nights. It's got the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi. We provide bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.

You're on the edge of the Lambourn Valley here. There's a footpath that starts right by the barn and goes straight out into the fields. It's good walking and cycling country. The local pub is about a mile away.

If you want to go further, you're in a good spot for it. The North Wessex Downs are all around you. Newbury Racecourse is about fifteen minutes by car. Highclere Castle, where they film Downton Abbey, is about twenty-five minutes away. For a day out, Avebury and the stone circle is under an hour's drive. Windsor is about forty-five minutes.
