There's a local pub, some takeaways, and a small shop a few minutes walk away. They're fine for basics.

The main reason to stay here is Cannock Chase. It's right there. You can walk straight out onto it. It's good for walking, mountain biking, and just being outside. There are bike hire places and Segway tours if you want them. The Forestry England website has maps and trail information.

If you want to drive out, it's well placed. The McArthurGlen designer outlet is about ten minutes away for shopping. Alton Towers is maybe half an hour. Twycross Zoo is about the same.

For a historical day out, Shugborough Hall is close. So is the National Memorial Arboretum over in Alrewas. Lichfield city, with its cathedral, is about twenty minutes by car.

Facilities: there's parking on site, a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and bike storage. All bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
