Woodpecker Cottage is in West Bretton. It's a 17th century stone cottage that sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The cottage is on the edge of the Bretton Estate. The views from the back are across fields.
It's an old place. The stairs are steep and the doors are a bit low in places. There are beams. The kitchen has an Aga. The living room has a woodburning stove. We leave a bit of wood for you to get started.
The garden is separate from the house, out the back. It's enclosed. There's a patio with a table and a barbecue.
You're right next to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. You can walk there in about ten minutes. It's a good day out.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got a few options. The National Coal Mining Museum is in Overton. Pugneys and Cannon Hall are country parks nearby. Leeds city centre is about twenty minutes away if you need shops or a night out.
For walking, you can go straight out from the cottage. The Peak District National Park boundary is about a twenty-five minute drive.
Facilities: there's parking for one car on the gravel next to the cottage. WiFi is included. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's bike storage in the outbuilding. Bedding and towels are provided. The entrance is step-free, but the rest of the cottage isn't really suitable for wheelchairs because of the stairs. No pets, sorry.
