The Farmhouse At Polehanger
The Farmhouse at Polehanger is in Shefford, Bedfordshire. It's a big house. It sleeps twelve people in six bedrooms, with three bathrooms. It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done up properly and is very comfortable.
It's actually two buildings joined together. The main farmhouse has the big kitchen, a dining room, and two living areas, one with a wood burner. The adjoining cottage part has another small kitchen, a living room, and a downstairs bathroom. It's a good setup for a large group where people might want a bit of space from each other.
The garden is large and well kept. You're on the edge of a working farm, so you get the fields and the quiet. At night, with little light pollution, you can see a lot of stars.
Shefford village is close. It has supermarkets, a pharmacy, a couple of takeaways and restaurants. There are a few decent pubs a short drive away.
If you're looking for a day out, you've got options. Woburn Safari Park and the ZSL Whipsnade Zoo are under 40 minutes' drive. Knebworth House is about half an hour away. Cambridge is 45 minutes drive, or you can get a train from Arlesey station (a few minutes drive) into London St Pancras in about 40 minutes.
Facilities: there are two kitchens, both with dishwashers. Washing machine, WiFi, TVs, bedding and towels are all included. There's plenty of on-site parking. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. A cot is available if you need one.
