The Stables is outside Lumsden village. It's a converted steading, all on one level, no steps, so you can wheel right in.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own shower room. One room has a kingsize bed that splits into two singles if you need it. The other has a double.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, living and dining area all together. There's a wood burner and underfloor heating with thermostats in each room, so you can sort your own temperature.
Outside is a patio and a bit of lawn. You look out over farm fields.
Lumsden has a small shop, a garage, and a playpark. There's a sculpture trail in the village too.
Alford is the nearest proper town, about eight minutes by car. It's got a supermarket, some local shops, and the Grampian Transport Museum.
The location is good for getting out. You're just off the Castle Trail, with the nearest one about five miles away. You're also near the Malt Whisky Trail. The closest distillery is 13 miles, with a few more within a 20 minute drive.
The Cairngorms National Park is about 20 minutes west. In winter, the Lecht and Aviemore ski slopes are that way too.
The coast is within half an hour or so. Portsoy, Cullen, and Newburgh are all nice for beaches and fishing villages.
Facilities: underfloor heating, wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Outside parking and an electric vehicle charger. We accept one dog. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
You can book it together with the place next door, The Byre, if you're a larger group.
