Garrique Cottage
Garrique Cottage is near Glentirranmuir in Stirlingshire. It's on the edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It's a detached cottage on a working farm, up a track. You're surrounded by farm land, about 400 acres.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. It's all on one level, which is good for accessibility, and there are grab rails in the bathroom. There's a wood burner in the sitting room. The main room is open plan, kitchen, dining and family area, with French doors to the garden. The garden faces south west and goes down to a small burn.
You're on a farm, so you'll see animals and wildlife. There are red squirrels and deer about. You can walk on the farm paths. The village of Kippen is about a 45 minute walk away, or a few minutes in the car. It's got a shop, a deli-cafe and a couple of pubs that do food.
For bigger days out, Stirling is under half an hour's drive. The castle is there. Stirling Castle is worth a visit. You're right by Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park for walking or water sports. The park website has good information: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. The facilities list is pretty accurate. It's got a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV, barbecue, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
It's quiet. You can see Ben Vorlich and Ben Ledi from the windows.
