Garrique Cottage

Garrique Cottage is on our farm near Kippen in Stirlingshire. The farm is about 400 acres and the cottage sits up on the edge of it. You get a good view of the hills from there, Ben Vorlich and Ben Ledi mainly.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Everything is on one level, which is handy. The doors are wide and there are grab rails in one of the bathrooms. There's a wood burner in the living room. The kitchen and living area is all one big room with French doors that go out to a terrace. The garden slopes down a bit towards a burn.

You're right next to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. You can walk from the door onto farm tracks and woodland paths. We see deer and red squirrels about. You can walk to Kippen village in about three quarters of an hour. They've got a couple of good pubs and a shop there.

Stirling is about a 20 minute drive. The castle is worth a visit. Other places nearby are Doune Castle and Blair Drummond Safari Park. Both are within half an hour. If you want to go on the lochs, there are places for boating and fishing not far away.

It's a working farm, so you'll see tractors and livestock sometimes. The track up to the cottage is a farm track, it's fine for normal cars but it's a bit bumpy.

You can bring two dogs. There's parking right outside. All the bedding and towels are included. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine.
