The Coach House is on the Harburn Estate, near West Calder. It's a converted steading building, so it's quite big and solid. It's semi-detached. You'll have three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is useful for a group. It sleeps eight, but that's using the double sofa bed in the living area as well.
The main room is open plan. The kitchen's at one end, the living area at the other. There's a wood burner, which is good for cooler evenings. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-finished.
The estate grounds are right there. You can walk out into the gardens and woodlands. There's a golf club and bistro about a mile away. The food is decent.
You're about a 25 minute drive from the edge of Edinburgh, depending on traffic. The M8 is close. There's a train station at West Calder for getting into Glasgow or Edinburgh without the car. Livingston is nearby for shopping or a cinema.
If you want to head north, you can be in Stirling or the start of the Trossachs in under an hour. The coast is about 40 minutes away.
For facilities: it has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and most of the ground floor is level. No pets, sorry.
