The Old Stables Standon

The Old Stables is in Standon, which is a quiet hamlet in Staffordshire. It's a converted barn, so it's detached and spacious. You get the garden and patio area to yourselves.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything is on one level, which is useful.

There's a wood burner in the living room. It gets a proper draught so it lights well. The games room is through that archway. It's got a pool table.

Outside, there's a barbecue and bike storage. The driveway fits two cars easily. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot and highchair if you need them.

The local pub is about two miles away. It's a proper country pub. The nearest shop is four miles, so it's best to bring what you need.

You can walk straight out from the house into the lanes and fields. Eccleshall is five miles away. It's a nice little town for a coffee or to look around the shops.

If you want to go further, Alton Towers is about half an hour's drive. Trentham Gardens is maybe 25 minutes. Stoke-on-Trent, for the pottery museums, is about the same. For walks, the Peak District isn't much further.
