Red Lion Corner is in the middle of Lavenham. It's on the main market square, so you're right in among all the old buildings. The view from the front windows is across the square to the Guildhall. It's a proper Tudor view.
It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.
The building used to be part of an old pub called The Red Lion, hence the name. It's got all the beams and uneven floors you'd expect from a place with medieval roots. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow. They're original. Just take your time on them.
There's a wood burning stove in the front room. The garden is enclosed at the back, so it's secure if you're bringing a dog. There's a wet room on the ground floor, which is handy if you come back muddy from a walk.
You're about a hundred yards from everything in Lavenham. Shops, cafes, several pubs. You don't really need the car once you're here.
If you do drive, Bury St Edmunds is about twenty minutes. Cambridge is under an hour. The Suffolk coast, like Southwold or Aldeburgh, is roughly forty-five minutes to an hour's drive. For planning days out, the National Trust Suffolk page is useful, and Visit East of England has good local information.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, BBQ, bedding and towels included. We allow one well-behaved dog.
